Bonney has been in private practice since graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Masters of Education in Counselling in 2008. She is a Registered Psychotherapist and Nurse Practitioner, a dual licensed member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the College of Nurses of Ontario. A Canadian Certified Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. A Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with Somatic Experiencing International.

She integrates Somatic Experiencing and Narrative Therapies with Family Systems, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Couples therapy, and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, with additional training in EMDR, Brainspotting, Sand Tray therapy, AEDP, IFS, and Optimal Sexuality.

Past career highlights include employment as a Registered Nurse, primarily in paediatric oncology; a Primary Health Nurse Practitioner in Indigenous and community health centre settings; a Counsellor/Group facilitation at a family service agency, and Health Coaching with those impacted by cancer.

Bonney sees individual adults, couples, and groups. Many of her clients work in the areas of health care and mental health. Appointments can be in person, virtual through Owl Practice, a secure platform, or over the phone.

Bonney is set up for direct billing for psychotherapy services to many third party insurance plans, including NIHB, Blue Cross, Sun Life, and plans such as Canada Life and Coughlin through Telus e-health. She provides counselling services to other insured clients under the supervision of Registered Counselling Psychologist Dr. David Paré.
