Bonney has been in private practice since graduating from the University of Ottawa with an Masters of Education in Counselling in 2008. She is a dual licensed member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the College of Nurses of Ontario.

A Canadian Certified Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. A Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with Somatic Experiencing International. She integrates somatic and narrative therapies with Family Systems, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Couples therapy, and Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, with additional training in EMDR, Brainspotting, Sand Tray therapy, and Optimal Sexuality.

Past career highlights include employment as a Registered Nurse, primarily in paediatric oncology; a Primary Health Nurse Practitioner in Indigenous and community health centre settings; counselling and support group facilitation at a family service agency, and health coaching with those impacted by cancer.

Bonney provides counselling to insured clients under the supervision of Registered Counselling Psychologist Dr. David Paré, covered by most third party insurance plans. Many health insurance plans now cover psychotherapy directly. Her services are covered by Blue Cross, NIHB, and the Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program.
